latest update

Sorry I haven't been doing this more, but here's some of the stuff from last month and the start of this month... So these are just a few sketches and maker "adventures" (as I'm now calling them) going to be working more on faces and form and how clothing works, so I've many more drawings to come

Drawing with Blu

So I was at my Uncle's birthday party yesterday and my cousin and I got bored, so I took out my sketchbook and he automatically asks "What are you going to draw?" and it took me a bit to figure it out, but I came up with this, and I gave it to him to colour it in. The scanner made it come out light, but the trees are blue, and the sky is a lighter blue, and the ground is a light brown... He wants me to teach him how to draw so he can be as good as me... I'm so proud.

Kerli

I took one of her "darker" photos and tried my hand at making it as real as possible... I want to redo it digitally, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Vixen

Just a little sketch while I was on skype with a good friend of mine, I called her vixen the first time we met and she brought it up so I just couldn't resist. I like how it came out, I need work on my animals but  it gives me something to work on.

Barnhoft Sketch

Realism attempt number 1... It's not correct, I mean, his head is at the wrong angel and his eye is different, but it looks good and I like how it turned out for the most part. But I'll definitely redraw it at a later date and compare the differences.

Bearclaw Attack

Just a little piece I drew up last week. Inspired by two cool cats in Texas and their crazy names. I hope to be able to one day make this an actual photograph/ poster for them.

Londoner Sketch

More current sketch, I was playing with perspective, and markers. I don't quite like it, but it's not too shabby. I should probably take a perspective class and pick up some new skills...
The idea was a gentleman from the 1880's in a London back alley, tipping his hat as he walked past.

Rasputin

I'm not at all happy with how this ended up, it looks weird and really messy... He's not creepy enough. I ended up doing a second version with markers (again) and instead of painting his beard I used some chalk pastel... the second was submitted to the fair, and I'm not entirely proud of my work, I wish I took more time on them... They might have turned out better.

Landscape Progression

So this is the crazy progression of a landscape I did for my mum. At her request of course. So in all it took me what seems to be 15 classes, each class was an hour and a half.  (I think it was more than 15 classes, but I might have forgotten to take a photo.) I learned a few new techniques, and had a lot of fun with it. Excuse the crappy exposure differences, I tried to fix it the best I could.
Painting is done with oils on a 24x36 stretched canvas... It's been sent to the San Diego art fair in Del Mar in hopes of bringing back a ribbon.

It's Official!

This is my business card, well it is for the most part, I have to go back and edit a few things, but this is the "official draft" if you will.
Soon as a get an actual website working, I'll be able to put that down. And I need a strictly business email... I guess I still have a bit of work to do.

Media Arts Posters

Two of my initial designs for the Media Arts Competition. This is just some of what I do in class. The rose is actually the 3 different stages, budding, semi-open, and full bloom, all edited with layer masks in Photoshop. The posters themselves are done in Illustrator.

Girl p.1

Browsing the internet, and being up at like 230 in the morning produces rough sketches which I finish in english class. (I'm productive.) I will end up redrawing her eyes because they're really uneven and look too different along with the sleeves of her sweatshirt... And I will most likely do an ink outline and quite possibly add colour.

City in the Sky

Drew this in English class today and came home to colour it, I like how it came out, for not really using prisma makers before, but it works. I would like to believe it has the potential to be a draft for a cover of some sort... I'm not sure yet.

Here, Here, and Here

A little splice job putting this back together, but it's not that bad. This is the first of two drafts inspired by Meg and Dia's "Here, Here, and Here". (I like the second idea a bit better, but it's lacking facial features, so it'll be posted later.)

colour

Just messing around with coloured pencils I bought not to long ago. Not really excited about how it all turned out, what it does say is I need work on mouths.

Dance

Just another idea I'm toying with... I don't know if it's going to go anywhere. Just trying to get some fabric practice in.

Poison Draft

Just a starting point, been having a large amount of problems redrawing it on the actual comic paper, it's just not coming out right. Anyways, just a two page thing inspired by Dev's "Poison".

Apologies

I am terribly sorry it's taken me so long to get work up. But I have a few things that are in the works, and I finished a painting the other week which I'll be posting. So here are some tid-bits to show I'm not slacking off.

Dance

A concept idea in shading for a frame (would you call it a frame?) in a  2 page comic I'm attempting to create.

My first watercolour

This was exciting for me... And I came to the same realization that I came to when I was small, "watercolours suck'. It's loose, and not very controlled, and it's quite easy to mess it all up. But I have to figure it out. So, challenge accepted.

Guitar

I fairly happy with how the sketch turned out. I had a bit of trouble on the hands, and the proportions of the guitar. But over all, it's not to shabby.

This on the other hand... I like how it came out in pen, and it remains this way because I'm having a wee bit of difficulties with the new Wacom Inkling. (There's a learning curve to it.) And until I get it, my work will continue to be in pencil, or pen and ink.
